RFP Process reflection

The RFP letter

Q.Was the letter clear? Was the process well-explained? Was the list of required items provided?

Letter was quite well-formed.We were clearly specified what to provide. While we feel SQl code should have been asked for in next increment after the design was selected.

Q.Were the deadlines clear?

Deadlines were clear but as requirements were floating till the time we started with design so we had tough time coping up.

Your work

Q.Did you submit all required pieces of work? How did you work together? Did you work only in your group of 2 students? did you share work with the other Indian teams? How often did you meet?

We provided the ERD, table schema , table constraints etc. although we couldn't provide the SQL code due to lack of time.Me and my team member worked together.Yes, we worked only in team of 2 people. We didn't share work with other people while at times we discussed few points.Since we are classmates we met almost daily.

Q.What were the main problems/difficulties? Communication? Missing documents? Access to the wiki? Requirements documents? Missing deadlines?

We had a chat with U.S. students but most of the queries were unattended because the U.S. students said that they will clarify with the Cambodian Students and then answer. And the replies were quite delayed.
Documents were readily available on Wikis.

Q.What were the main problems in the requirements documents?

Requirement document was quite well designed. While few things were unspecified.

Q.What was easy in the process?

Since the requirement document was quite well made we had a easy transition from requirement phase to design phase.

Q.Did you have chats with the US students? Why?

Yes,we had a chat with US students to clarify the problems in the requirements document.

Q.Were you satisfied with your work?

Yes, but still We wish we had more time to improvise.

NEW QUESTIONS:

Q.If your design was rejected, were justifications provided? Did you agree with the justifications? Why?

Yes,justifications were provided but were not elaborative. As in our rejection letter it was mentioned that "requirements didnt meet" but the statement is quite abstract.Maybe few instances would have helped us understand it better.

Q.It was asked that you send the CREATE TABLE statements. Did you do it? If not, why?

No,we didnt send create table statement.Basically due to lack of time.Otherwise we feel SQL code should have been asked for after the acceptance.

ZZZZ....

It has been a long time since we have sent our queries regarding the format of the various attributes and several other queries. But we haven't got much of concrete response till now.
Still, we have created database design with best of our efforts in which we have assumed various things because of lack of information.Awaiting for replies.....so that we can now move from assumptions to facts.
We are also looking forward towards the reply and queries regarding the database design we sent.Maybe we can schedule a chat when US students are through studying the database design document.
Neha :)

Thanks for gifts!!

We recently got our gifts sent to us by US and Cambodian teams.I would like to thank all on behalf of my team for such lovely gifts. The postcards with handwritten description were really sweet.
Glad to be working in such a nice company.
Thank you once more.

database design in progress...

While making the ERD new questions are cropping up and we have mailed our queries to US students regarding the new queries. As per their reply they will forward those queries to the Cambodian students and then we will get the solution.
Awaiting for the reply...
